National nonprofit American Consumer Credit Counseling receives grant to support Pre-Purchase program that improves sustainable homeownership.
Boston, MA – May 9, 2017
American Consumer Credit Counseling announced today that it has received a $25,000 grant from Rockland Trust Foundation to enhance and grow its Pre-Purchase home owner’s program. The grant will help support Worcester and Greater Boston residents and improve neighborhood stability and revitalization by providing the education and resources necessary to increase sustainable homeownership.
With the Rockland Trust Foundation Grant, ACCC plans to increase the number of one-hour individual budget and credit counseling client sessions this year. The individual counseling sessions help to bolster the Homebuyer Education program by providing budget and credit counseling to prospective homebuyers or those interested in pursuing the goal of buying a home.
“We are incredibly grateful to have the Rockland Trust Foundation’s generous support for our Pre-Purchase program,” said Steve Trumble, President and CEO of American Consumer Credit Counseling, which is based in Newton, MA. “The program represents one of the many ways ACCC works to assist consumers by providing pre-purchase housing counseling sessions and workshops to facilitate economic empowerment and community stability.”
The Pre-Purchase Housing Counseling Program addresses many of the issues and challenges that may prevent or delay affordable mortgage financing, while offering specific steps to help clients achieve homeownership. Additionally, the counseling session helps consumers understand how to avoid potential problems that may impact future homeownership and financial stability.
