Today it’s not only expensive to host a wedding, but also to attend one. On average, wedding guests expect to pay an average of $539 for each wedding they attend. This adds up quickly especially when you have multiple events to attend in one year (or most likely one summer). So we asked consumers if they have every turned down a wedding invitation for financial reasons and if they would be willing to acquire credit card debt just to attend. 70 percent of respondents reported that they have declined a wedding invitation before for a variety of reasons including not being able to afford it and not willing to go into credit card debt.
