Who doesn’t enjoy finding a bargain? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t, do you? I always feel great when I find something at a bargain price. If you read my bio you would already know that about me. When I find one, I’m always excited to tell people about it. My credit counseling advice is to always try to find ways to save money with bargains. As an avid gamer, (Yes, I am a gamer geek) I am especially fond of finding a great deal on video games. One way you can find some great bargains would be at yard sales.
I’ve had great luck at yard sales. I have found an original Nintendo system in near mint condition that I purchased for a measly 5 dollars. What a find! At another yard sale down the street from where I live, I picked up a Super Nintendo system with the infamous Super Mario World for $8.00! That game on ebay.com sells for over $10.00 by itself, never mind including the Nintendo system with it. Those two finds cost me $13 total (that is some tough math, phew). If I were to buy these at a store I would have paid over $80. This saved me a whopping $67!
You know those funny colored signs posted on light posts and power lines that look like some child went to town with a pack of Crayola markers. Usually these are postings for yard sales. But a lot of the times people hosting the yard sales tend to not market themselves very well around town so you could end up missing out on some great deals. But through the magical power of the internet, you can find yard sales not only locally, but throughout the entire United States. This can help you get new things while staying on your budget.
I have found some great websites that give you all sorts of information from where the yard sales are going to be, the date, the time, and even what items are going to be at the yard sale. Some listings even have pictures which can allow you to see what condition the items are in. Any of these great sites can be your treasure map to your bargain dreams.

If you don’t find anything on these sites, you can also check your trusty local newspaper for yard sales that are close by. Other than that, just keep an eye out around town for those homemade signs.
Have you found any great finds at any yard sales or even while shopping online? Let me know, I want to hear about your yard sale success stories.
